In the middle of the mythic Swedish forest, the home of trolls and elks,
lies a number of crumpled figures. In some sort of a humorous way they
look like jelly figures thrown out in the middle of the dark woods. At a
second glimpse they can also mark a place for an action you do not
understand fully. A crime, a murder or just a memory connected to the
place?
The figures seem to mark out important places. Sites of a crime or just
any kind of a significant action. They also outline a human body and a
space between the body and the nature. Here the flesh and also the
spirit
are gone. Just the imprint is left.
Knowing that the figures are perfect textile copies of the artist
himself
a new meaning is added. Left in the wood they not just mark a memory
they
also mark a place where he has been and where he once belonged. Like a
snake sloughed the skin someone has left this place to find another
somewhere else. Only the trace is left. It might be a picture of himself
leaving the hometown of his childhood or just a picture describing his
contemporary self, leaving one phase to another.
